JACKSONVILLE,
FL - 2/2/2010 - Fred
Hulett, a senior trainer consultant for Folkner Training and Associates
and a resident of Orange
Park,
has been elected president of the board of directors of the Mandarin
Museum & Historical Society.
The board made the announcement following the board's
annual meeting on January 12. Hulett joined the board in
2008.
"Fred has more than 20 years of experience in management and
motivational training," said John Cooksey, outgoing president. "He'll
play a vital role in guiding our organization during challenging
economic times."
Cooksey noted that the Mandarin
Museum and Walter Jones
Historical Park, which the society operates for the
City of Jacksonville, encompass the
history of all of the communities along the St.
Johns River. "It's great that Fred is an Orange Park
resident because we want to involve people from all over Northeast Florida in all of our activities."
Other officers elected by the membership are Mark Cowart as
vice-president, Anne Morrow
as treasurer, and Gabriele Dempsey as secretary, all Mandarin
residents.
New members elected to the board include: Sandy Arpen and Deborah
Harmon of Mandarin. Members who were re-elected or who continue to
serve terms include: John Cooksey, Susan Ford, Beth Meyer, Steve
Rawlins, Sandra Webb and June Weltman, all of Mandarin, and Orren (Bo)
Phillips and Karen Roumillat of Northwest St. Johns
County.
Outgoing board members included Ben Stradley, Carolyn Williams, Mary
Ellen Potter and Jim Towart. Potter and Towart were founding members of
the Mandarin Museum & Historical Society. Towart has served on the
museum board since 1990 and Potter has served on the board since 1996.
Hulett was raised in Daytona
Beach. He attended Presbyterian
College in Clinton, South
Carolina and graduated with degree in business
management in 1985. He began his career at General Electric in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1993, he went to work for
Publix in Atlanta,
Georgia,
where he became a customer service manager at the grocery store chain.
In 1998, he moved to Orange
Park.
In 2002,he began working with Folkner Training and Associates, the
franchise holder of Dale Carnegie Training in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia.
He has conducted training sessions for companies such as Merrill Lynch,
Bank of America, and BMW .
Hulett lives with his wife Tracey of Mount Dora
and their three children Corey 17, Bailey 12, and Riley 8. The
family enjoys playing sports and camping together. Hulett also
volunteers with the Clay County School Board as a tutor and fundraiser.
